About Our Business

In the winter of 1970, Don L. Gunter drafted the blueprints for a new book pocket machine that was to be the
beginning of a company called Trekon Company. This new machine was built and working by the Spring of
1971.

Book Pockets were produced on weekends and evenings until Marilyn Gunter, (Don's wife), was able to
work full time with one other employee in 1975. Sons Greg and Steve and daughter Cindy assisted catching
pockets on weekends and evenings. By the fall of 1976 the company had grown large enough to need a
full-time engineer on a daily basis.

In 1977 Don designed and built another machine that would apply pressure-sensitive adhesive backing to the
book pockets, resulting in a much greater volume of business. They added additional machines such as a
multi-station printing press, used to manufacture book and catalog cards, and a custom designed book jacket
machine.

In 1998, Trekon's ownership changed over to the three children (Greg and Steve Gunter and Cindy Springer)
and machine operator, Jim Lonergan, who currently maintain ownership and run operations.
